The airport of Munich is outside of the city. I think a train or bus is the best way to go the Olympiahalle. The place of the Arena is in the northwest of the city. When you are in the city, you can also drive with the subway. The tickets are not too expensive. I was there in the last year.

By the way easyjet is a good airline, I took them to my trip to Barcelona. :kicher: :kicher:

@ soptha: I wrote it on rules in the first post in English and here again in German.

By plane (1h to get to the venue):

- Arrival at Munich Franz Joseph Strauß Airport

- Take the S-Bahn 1 or 8 to "Marienplatz" (preferably S8)

- Switch to underground line 3 and leave at "Olympiapark"

- go towards the tv tower and the Olympic Swimming hall. Olmypic hall is just behind it

and 17:30 is quite tough, but manageable. Taxi is possible, but hella expensive.

By the way easyjet is a good airline

Punkt. ;)

No, I really don't think so.

Since easyjet is a low-cost carrier, delays are easily possible. you should also consider the time you need for deboarding, picking up your luggage etc.

So you will be out of the airport at 18:00 at the earliest.

I'd prefer to go to the Olympiahalle by taxi - but as ALPINA-Fan mentioned, it's quite expensive :annoyed:

Thanks for your answer !

If the flight arrive in late for example at 18:30, and if I take the taxi, could i be to the Olimpiahalle at 20:00?

There are partly no speed limits at the motorways, so if you tell the taxi driver that you're in a hurry... well, it's possible.

But according to easyjet, the flight will arrive at 17:10 anyway?

It might be possible, but rather unlikely. And the price for the taxi will elliminate the price advantage from easyjet over Lufthansa. Instead of doing that, you could take a Lufthansa flight that arrives in the early afternoon and go by train to the hall.

@ femase: The motorway from the airport to the hall is restricted to 120km/h, unfortunately. And normally very crowded on sundays (close to the stadium, in which 1860 München will have a game that weekend).

Easyjet has a promotion until monday night... day-return will cost only 33 Euros !

Normally the flight will arrive at 17:10 ! With late it could be 18:30...but if the flight will be at time....no problem ?

vol 1103 EasyJet - Basel-Munich

dép. 16:05, arr. 17:10

I think I will take my car ! It will be more safe !!!

No no.... easyjet is safe enough.

There are strict regulations for all operating airlines in Europe, you know.

And if you think of the time aspect... I think you are done if you drive all the way to munich...

But why not taking an earlier flight, i.e. with Lufthansa, like ALPINA-Fan mentioned and visit Munich?

There is only one flight on Sunday from Basel to Munchen. I can't take the flight on Saturday, i have some exams, and I should be back on monday in Switzerland. Next wednesday and Thursday I will be in Zurich for the concert, and the week after in Milano ! That's a lot. Thanks for your help.
